Yam Cheese Ball

This recipe is delicious with crackers. The yams provide vitamins and fiber, and substitute for half of the cream cheese used in the traditional recipes.

Ingredients

1 package of Cream Cheese, softened
2 C Yams, mashed and cooled
¼ C Onion, finely chopped
2 Tbs Jalapeno peppers, finely chopped
1 tsp Seasoned Salt
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Louisiana Hot sauce
½ tsp Hot pepper sauce
¼ C chopped Pecans

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and yams until smooth. Add the next seven ingredients and mix well. For those who like it hot, also use the seeds of the pepper. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours. Shape into a ball. Cover and refrigerate another 4 hours or until firm. Serve with crackers, vegetables or bread sticks.
