Avocados are one of those funny fruits. Not sweet, not full of seeds, but still delicious. The avocado originated in Peru and Mexico. There are three main varieties (and hybrids between all of them): Guatemalan, Mexican, and West Indian.
Beside the rich buttery taste of avocados, they are high in iron, copper, phosphorus, and magnesium, as well as vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, C, and E. They also contain high quality essential fatty acids and easily digestible protein. Avocados are high in monosaturated oil and have been thought to help reduce blood cholesterol. They are also effective for balancing blood sugar levels, as well as fighting candida.
