‘Tis the season for gatherings and gift giving with family and friends. Instead of offering a store-bought present, why not provide your loved ones with a homemade edible gift? What better way to say “I care” than to present someone with a savory and nutritious gift. An edible gift is perfect for a neighbour, a host/hostess, or a loved one. It shows that you care by taking the time and using the best of ingredients.
Here are some helpful hints when creating an edible gift:
-Keep it simple – too many flavours may be overwhelming.
-Beware of allergens – ingredients like nuts should be avoided if you know (or are unsure) of any allergies.
-Include all ingredients, instructions, and expiry dates (if applicable) on your labels.
-Presentation – sometimes the presentation is as important as the gift itself. But, it doesn’t have to be fancy. A small bow or piece of garland can be simply beautiful.
-Still stumped on finding the perfect gift? How about some Rooibos tea or sumptuous Little Creek Salad dressing? Or even better…how about an Urban Harvest gift certificate?
