Red Cabbage with Apples
Recipe for Category Vegetable Side Dishes

Ingredients
1 medium head Red cabbage, washed and shredded
1 large Apple, peeled, cored, and sliced
2 Tbs Butter or Oil
1 Bay leaf
Salt and Pepper
¼ C dry White wine
2 Tbs Vinegar
1 tsp Sugar
Instructions
In a large deep skillet, heat butter or oil. Add cabbage and apple slices, mixing well. Add bay leaf, and salt and pepper to taste. Cover and cook over low heat for about 10 minutes. Add wine, vinegar, and sugar. Stir to mix well. Cover and cook for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Taste and adjust seasonings. Serves 4 to 6.
