Turnip Kebabs
Recipe for Category Vegetable Side Dishes

Ingredients
12 small Salad turnips
1 Tbs Sesame oil
1 Tbs Brown rice syrup
2 Tbs Water
2 Tbs Sherry
1/2 C Black bean paste
Instructions
Preheat the broiler. Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil. Parboil the turnips until heated through, about 5 minutes. Drain. Place 3 bulbs on each of 4 skewers and brush with oil. Place the skewers under a broiler until tender, about 8 minutes, rotating every two minutes. Remove and set aside. In a small bowl, combine syrup, water, sherry and black bean paste. Brush liberally over the turnips and return to the broiler. Remove when the paste is dry and has formed a glaze. Serve over boiled rice, sprinkled with slivered almonds.
