½ cp old-fashioned rolled oats½ cp flour½ tsp cinnamon½ cp brown sugar (packed)¼ tsp salt1 Tbsp lemon juice¼ cp butter, cut in bits and softened1 Tbsp white sugar½ cp slivered almonds, lightly toasted4 cps peeled, sliced apples
In a bowl combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt and mix well. Add the butter and blend until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in almonds. In a large bowl toss apples in lemon juice and sugar. Transfer to a small, buttered casserole dish. Crumble topping evenly over the apple mixture and bake at 350F until crisp, 25 to 30 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes and serve warm. Leftovers will remain crisp for another day!
